The resultant rule spectrum is extremely broad and not something that is easily defined (nor should it be). Despite that, we’ve come up with a few basic rules that generally apply across all roleplaying situations.

  1. Know the ruleset - All roleplaying games and situations should have clearly defined rules and parameters that the participants must follow. Defining an adequate ruleset is the responsibility of the organizer and is the first important step to creating a successful RP situation. These rules can be anything from as simple restricting the time and place of the rpg (i.e. midievil england sits shouldn’t have jedi knights running around in them) to extremely complex rules such as how attacking damage is scored.

    The important point here is that you, as a roleplayer, should know the constraints placed upon you before you start playing the game. This is less important in a single player situation, but when your actions affect other players as well, your knowledge of the rules can greatly affect their gaming situation as well.

  2. Listen to the Moderator/Game Master - When you’re a student being graded by a professor on your knowledge of a roleplaying situation this is probably quite easy for you! :) When it’s for recreation sometimes it’s easier the point gets a little less clear. It shouldn’t however.

    It is important for the game moderator to have control over the rules and to continue to modify the game as it takes place. A good moderator will know how much “moderating” is enough and won’t step over the line. Games do however tend to evolve over time as new scenarios occur or things happen that weren’t originally anticipated. The result is that to keep the game running smoothly, the gamemaster does does need to play direct role and at times change the rules.

    What players should remember is that the game in many ways belongs to the gamemaster, in the case of disagreements, they should be voiced outside of the game itself. If things are not reconcilable, then the player should respectfully leave the game (quite possible to create their own with the desired changes).

  3. Be polite - While this probably goes without saying, treating other players with respect is something that should always be done. Unless of course disrespect is something that is involved in the story line. The point is, treat the player themselves (possibly not the character) the same way you would like to be treated yourself.

The Eastern Kingdoms are the home of humans, dwarves and gnomes, who are known collectively as The Alliance. Kalimdor is the home of tauren, orcs and trolls, who are known collectively as The Horde. Northrend is the home of the wicked Lich King.

Although World of Warcraft is rich and detailed, it is an easy game to understand.
All characters tend to belong to one of two groups, the Alliance and the Horde. The Alliance seems good in nature while the Horde is generally more evil. The Alliance characters are attractive to look at and are considered pretty, while the Horde characters are ugly and less appealing. You can play as characters from either group, and they each possess their own personalities and strengths.

World of Warcraft allows you to design your own character and customise them as you see fit. The character that you create can be one of nine possible classes. The classes include choices like druids, hunters, mages, rogues, shamans and warriors. Every class has its own skills and professions. You will use these talents to help you in the game. The process of creating a character is simple, and it allows you to express your own identity, as your character is a reflection of yourself.

It also is a multiplayer online game where you compete against thousands of other players. You can join a Clan and clan mates can teach you stratgies and you can work together to win the game.

To participate in the game you need to register an account which is FREE. When registering an account you will need to choose a race to start with. You will not be able to change races until the next game reset , so make your decision wisely. Different races have different advantages and disadvantages.

In Lords of Legend, you need to build an army and develop your settlement for improved soldiers and weapons.

Every 30 minutes a game turn takes place where you earn money and an attack point. The amount of money you generate is based on the population you have influence over. Your influence comes from the size of your army and the type of units you have.

Every day you earn more units that you can train. You can also buy mercenaries.

You can build and upgrade certain buildings according to your race. You can build a treasury, market, fortifications, and several other military buidling. This will enable you to make more powerful units and to purchase improved weapons giving your army attack and defense bonuses.

Attacking an enemy uses attacking points also know as AP which you earn 1 every game turn. The number of attack turns you use determines how much money you will plunder if you win. There are a couple ways to get some extra AP Attack Points, can you find them?
